The Wellbeing Workshop Programme
Designed and ran a ten-session wellbeing workshop programme for a community charity, from the first outline to standing in front of the room.
Problem
Members kept asking for wellbeing support the charity had no structured way to give; signposting them elsewhere meant months of waiting for people who needed something now.
What I built
A ten-session programme: the curriculum, the materials, a feedback form after every session, and training notes written so another branch could run it without me in the building.
My contribution
All of it, from the first outline to delivery, with a volunteer co-host I trained up from session four so the programme didn't depend on one person.
Process
Asked before designing
Surveyed members about what they actually wanted help with, not what a programme template assumed.
Ran it small first
Piloted two sessions with eight people and rewrote half the material from what fell flat.
Made it survive without me
Wrote the training notes and co-ran sessions until a volunteer could lead alone.
Outcome
Attendance doubled by the third session, and the programme was adopted by two other branches using my training notes.
